The bird box is made from cedar with a either a wired or wireless camera installed in the roof looking down at the nesting area and includes all the necessary cables and transformers to connect the system to a TV or video recorder. Pictures can also be viewed on a computer using a suitable AV capture device.
The cameras are low light cameras and use infrared light to see in total darkness. The infrared light is invisible to the naked eye, harmless to the birds and does not disrupt their natural day/night, light/dark cycles. It avoids the need to put artificial light into the bird box which can disturb the birds.
The bird boxes are available with four different sizes of entrance hole. Entrance holes of 25mm, 28mm, 32mm and 38mm are available to attract several different species of birds please see the "bird box more details" page for further information or please click here for more pictures.
